Re: [PD] midi controller advice?
I think the DIY route is a good one, depending on your abilities, you can get a fairly pre-made board from doepfer attach (screw on) jack sockets for up to 16 pedals (or more with expansion), or you might look at an even more DIY solution if you are good at soldering building stuff one thing to look out for is the impedance... some generic pedals have an impedance matching circuit which would get round the problem of the board wanting 10k pots and the pedal having 50k ones (for instance) all the best adam ___ Yahoo! Re: [PD] HRTF
Something I feel very strongly about though, are there still 'licensing issues' with Csound or has it shaken off all it's encumberances and become a totally free OS codebase? -- i heard john ffitch (head csound bloke, and a professor at bath uni) do a talk a couple of years back, he said that after long discussions with mit, it is open source now, they did a total rewrite for the latest version i think, whether this means it's totally totally OS is of course another matter ;-) all the best adam ___ New Yahoo! Is there an object or abstraction that I should be using to achieve this? for supercollider there is the bbcut library... i think theres a csound version too (could be used with pd with the csoundlib~ thingy) sc pd could also communicate via osc www.cus.cam.ac.uk/~nc272/bbcut2.html all the best adam ___ All New Yahoo! I currently own a Roland XV5050 and an old Yamaha TX7, and want to write an editor for them. Re: [PD] Abstraction [define]
i think it'd be worth having the option to just bundle abstractions etc. as well as bundle everything (inc externals) mostly in the interests of keeping file sizes down, i can see that as well as using this to distribute patches easily, it'd be a nice tool for archiving patches in one particular state (as Frank suggested) best wishes adam ___ Yahoo!
