Thanks for the info! Personally i would update to 10.9 if that would fix
it. I am looking forward to drag and drop which partially worked for me in
one of your earlier versions with tcltk > 8.4...

It means the newer build with TK 8.5 may not work well on older systems like
yours. We probably need to, unfortunately, release builds with Tk 8.4 for older
systems and TK 85 for newer (probably 10.9+).
That command opened the GUI using Tk 8.4 on your system as a test.
