On macOS 12.7.5 with Pd-0.55-0
When I open Pure Data, close the Pd window, open a new empty patcher window,
and close that patcher window, Pd hangs for me and I only see the icon of the
apple menu without the other menu items.
I don’t think this is a new issue. I am curious if it is
One observation:
The PD Window doesn’t display the text from the external libraries that are
loaded at startup anymore.
The libraries are still visible in Preferences > Startup and work as usual.

It seems the deken server is not working at the moment.

On the Raspberry Pi I’m getting the following notification when launching PD:
"Raspberry Pi - priority 6 scheduling failed; running at normal priority”.
I would like to know if this is indeed a problem and what to do to give PD the
right priority.

Dear Roman,
Thanks a lot for this tip!
I’m now studying how to easily parse its output.

In the past I have been using the shell object, part of the ggee library, on
the raspberry pi using the 32 bit version of the OS.
Now I’ve moved to the 64 bit version of the Raspberry PI OS (aarch64) but there
is no version of the ggee library available for this architecture.

pow() must be giving you 9.999 (or something similar) instead of 10 which
is rounded down to 9 by the int typecast.
This results in 3 * 9 + 2 = 29.
To solve this you can, for example, do a round() before the typecast or you can
add 0.5 to the output of pow() before doing the typecast.
Dear Pierre,
Really really nice work and fantastic that this is for PD, Max and also
SuperCollider!

This will not be solved by providing two separate binaries because people with
an ARM processor will download the ARM version nevertheless.
I would say compiling the libraries for ARM is the way to go ;-)

Hi Ingo,
You can see a DC offset as a constant signal with a frequency of 0 Hz.
Therefore you can get rid of it using a highpass filter at for example 7 Hz.
I’m assuming you are working with full spectrum audio and therefore you want to
make sure that anything above 20 Hz isn’t affected by the

Last Saturday Vadim Chaly and I performed NMD 2020-#1 and presented it as a
live stream. The sound processing and bi-directional audio connection

Thanks for news.
I’m going to learn how to compile this for macos and try it out.

Hi Miller,
Just to let you know: the completion plugin doesn’t seem to work with pd 0.50-0
test1. When I put an object, type for example ‘sf’ and press the tab key I get
‘… couldn’t create’ in the Pd window instead of a list of objects that include
’sf’ in their name.
I’m on macos 10.14.6 and
