Hi dear list,
it seems that [hid] is not available for pd64 on Debian neither via
Deken, nor via apt.
In case anyone is thinking of packaging such binary version, it would be
very welcome!
thanks a lot!

Hi list,
after an OS X upgrade to Catalina my current 32bit binary of [hid] does not
work anymore due to Apple dropping support for 32bit.
Does anyone have a 64bit binary at hand? Is there any other workaround?
Thanks and stay safe

The [usbhid] in the deken package is just in the sources folder. This
object was only for Linux and Mac.

Has anyone compiled an hid object for 64-bit Windows, yet?
There is an hcs download on deken, but only some of the objects work. Among
the non-functional objects is a usbhid object. Does anyone have experience
with that?

Thanks for all the help, everyone. It appears our problems with hid stem from
trying to install it on a recent Mac OS (High Sierra).
In the meantime, I will look at joyosc and HIDIO as an alternative solution.

Does [hid] use IOKit? If not, then it's most likely *very* old. I can take
a look sometime over the next month to see what's up. I've never used [hid]
myself as I came up with an alternate solution (see last email) but I know
it's generally useful to many...

An alternate solution, which I've use for a decade now, is *not* to do this
in Pd, but to simply forward gamepad/joystick events over OSC:

Greetings,
My students are working on projects where they want to use game controllers
with Pd.
We can currently get the hid object to run in Pd-extended on Mac OS High
Sierra, but I would like to encourage my students to use a newer version of Pd.

I believe your version of hid is compiled for 32-bit executables, so to load
it you'll have to use the 32 bit version of Pd 0.48-0.

Hi,
I'm building a daemon to capture the commands from a Contour
ShuttleXpress to send OSC commands to other software and don't want to
be stuck with [key] because Pd will probably not have the focus. The
patch runs in the background like a good daemon should.

(e.g. Pd offers two distinct objects to read and write samples from your
