[PD] audio into Open Sound Control message (OSX_ableton)

2015-07-06 Thread Michael-Jon Mizra
Hi all,
I wish to convert an incoming audio signal (from ableton live) into Open Source
Control messages, and then feed these messaged back into live so that I can
control parameters on my effects. I am using OSX Lion, and have the IAC Drivers
working.

is this possible, and if so where do I begin?
all the best

An enhanced version of Gem abstraction [text3d_ml]...

 Added :
clear message : to clear text
replace message : to replace a line at a certain position
add message : to add a line at the end of the text

Now [text3d_ml] returns the number of lines.

If needed for people using a pd version 0.46, it should not be
difficult to change [text] with [textfile] or [msgfile] (zexy) and
 [list fromsymbol] with [any2bytes] (moocow).

Yes, you need Pd 0.46.0 minimum, for [list fromsymbol], [list
tosymbol] and [text] familly objects used in this abstraction.

it's called [list fromsymbol] (without the space between 'from'
and 'symbol') and it is included in Pd-vanilla since 0.46-0.

most likely you don't have last vanilla (which is 0.46-6).

[PD] Live Data Stream as Generative Source

2015-06-15 Thread Michael-Jon Mizra
Hi all,
I am looking to use a live data source (user submitted information) to generate
music(pure sine tones). This is quite a task, and rather then a step by step
guide(unless you offer...;)) I would like some resources (youtube
videos/articles) that deal with patch examples and syntax in this area. I am
assuming it has to do with passing information into an array to later be read
back - I am not to sure, I am a fledgling Pure Data user. My grasp of the
language is basic, but I am focusing in this area so don't hold back on
highlighting the technical difficulties and where I must invest my studies!
p.s you'll see a few more posts from me because I am also using video source to
control acoustic parameters - if you have knowledge of this and can include any
links for resources in this area as a side note, that would be awesome.
Any help greatly appreciated,
Michael_j
