The OtherSide server (http://otherside.servebeer.com) which is currently
hosting an APT repository with PD-extended for Ubuntu Intrepid will be
down for a couple of hours during the weekend for maintenance. Checking
the logs, I noticed a lot of IP's actually asking for the APT, so I
thought I
Hello,
I haven't seen the whole discussion about this, but from what I
understand someone is using PD, mplayer and jack for streaming to an
icecast/shoutcast server.
I have used PD as a 24/7 source encoder/streamer, using mp3cast~, in the
OtherSide project. This was a server that had PD

The OtherSide server died a couple of hours ago... Hardware failure! It
refuses to boot. It was experiencing some RAM problems and I tried to
fix it by replacing the RAM with a stick of the exact same specs. This
somehow managed to fry the motherboard. It does not do anything anymore.

After a 24-hour downtime, the OtherSide server
(http://otherside.servebeer.com) is up and running again, on temporarily
borrowed hardware. The original hardware is fried, haven't found out why
yet.
I had to go through a very painful data transfer due to to
incompatibility in the hardware, so

Hello Roman,
I assume you tried downloading the package through HTTP. There is an
info link next to the download, md5 and APT links on the download page,
that links here: http://pd.ianagnostopoulos.postgrad.shef.ac.uk/notes.txt
This describes the dependencies, and gives you another link,
Hello IOhannes,
I will check it again tomorrow and if I can make a better solution work,
I'll implement it.
As for the libmpeg1 vs libmpeg3, how would I specify which one I want to
use then? Or does it figure this out on its own at compile time?

Yeah, this is the repo with the rest of the packages. If you send me
the direct link to the package, then I'll stick it into the repo where
the rest are hosted. I just want to make sure that I get the right
package. :)

John,
I was working on the 64-bit version, but I've stopped doing anything
since Saturday when the civil unrest started in Greece. I'm interested
in this, I'll have a look at the wiki page and contribute if I can. Good
luck!!

I have updated the Ubuntu Intrepid package for PD-extended and it no
longer depends on any libraries that are not on the Intrepid
repositories. The link has been updated on the PD page.
Hans, if you had already uploaded the old one in the APT, can you change

The usual Otherside Server was murdered by Santa.. It's quite simple
this time, the power supply just blew the fuse.. I'll make some
modifications and restore it soon. In the meantime, most of the stuff

The Otherside server has been repaired once again and is now fully
functional. Since it is built from scraps taken from many different and
most importantly, OLD computers, it will most likely fail again in the
future. Do not fear, most of the functionality is mirrored.
Hello,
This is an interesting one:

Hello Fraenk,
One more question: are there any risks of conflicts, if I install

Specially one pd-extended and one pd-vanilla.-
When I first got Ubuntu-Studio, it came with PD installed by default in

Hello Athos,
The packages of Puredata (Ubuntu Repos) and Pd-extended are made in such
a way that only one can be installed at any given time. This is due to
