I have also experienced a similar behavior when resizing (by click+dragging 
with mouse) a canvas window, on macOS. 

This freezing happens only when DSP is on.

Hello.

Just to let you know about this behaviour which I noticed recently: if I
have three or four arrays which I'm using to display signals in a window,
when resizing that window PD freezes for a good couple of minutes. It
eventually comes back but it really struggles.

I'm aware that that kind of display operations are heavy but I can't recall
this behaviour from past PD versions.

I'm on 10.11.6.
