Yes and no, Jack. The upper wings of the Painted Ladies are much brighter
than the lower wings; when the wings are open, it appears almost as
colorful as a Monarch, but when closed, the colors are somewhat dull.

Just more grass. :-)
It's shot in my front garden. The ambient light was quite low. Shutter
speeds without flash at same aperture was 0.5-1 sec.
