PESOs (4) - New Castle DE

Friday we took a trip to New Castle, Delaware; about 35 miles / 56 km southwest from Philly, down the Delaware River. We learned that in Colonial times, which was also the tail end of the “Little Ice Age,” New Castle was the port closest to Philadelphia, as ther river often froze in Philly.

We had some nice warm weather yesterday and we had a couple of monarch butterflies emerge. I was keeping an eye on the two remaining chrysalises (that I'm aware of) and noticed a nearby plant was attracting lots of bees. I spent quite a while chasing the bees around the flowers with my macro
