Two basic things you have to do. First, with the flash on, hold down
the 'Light' button for 2 seconds. It will change to say Slave 1
or Slave 2. You must set it to slave 2 by pressing the s (select)
button. Then press the 'Light' button to save.
Next you need to set the power switch to the

Ok ok, so it's an interactive website and that particular link doesn't work.

Bruce,
Thank you. This is the information I was after. Pressing and holding
the Light button is somehow not intuitive.

Leon,
You're doubtless aware of Wein flash sensors. If you want manual, why
not?
What camera are you planning to use?
The MZ-S allows wireless with the pop-up flash wherein it only serves
as a controller, thus having no influence on the exposure. (PF: F10 2)
Hope of some help.

Hi Jack,
I'm using the *istD (and possibly the MZ-S) and know about the use of
the pop up flash as the controller. Even as a controller it puts out a
small pulse of light when the shutter is open which will reflect back
off surfaces like the glazed porcelain and the glass on the front of an
Good to know. Guess Pentax feels that the small pulse of light is
insignificant to the exposure. There are, obviously exceptions.
For my own entertainment think I'll try some shots at highly reflective
surfaces with pop-up in 'controller' setting.

Hi everyone,
I need some information on setting the AF360 and can't find my manual,
so I thought I'd ask here for some help.
I want to set the flash to work in manual mode and triggered by another
manual flash going off (wireless slave mode). I thought that this could
be done, but have

Leon,
I was told by someone (sorry, I don't remember who) that both the 360
and 500 would work as triggers in wireless mode. I asked Pentax who had
no info to confirm, but suggested trying it as there could be some
operational possibilities not covered by the manual. I didn't.
I've only done it
Joe,
That was the first thing I tried. The site has camera manuals and
manuals for sport optics, but not for other equipment (unless it's
hidden where I couldn't find it).

Jack,
I thought it was possible too, but I can't seem to find how to trigger
it as a standard slave. I can do it from using the pop up flash and the
Pentax signalling, but I don't want to use the pop up flash as I'm
photographing porcelain and don't want glare from the front.
I can set up
