In the end they will because if they do they will be able to develop
lens with only one AF system... lower costs -> they will do it IMO.

That's said we will have to check for a couple things:
* Pentax DA* with SDM motors are *rumored* to be compatible with usual
"screwdriver" drive.
* I really don't think Sigma will go that route. If they do SDM
lenses, they will be SDM-only.

No, the spec. for Pentax's version didn't exist when the lenses were
made, so the Pentax versions won't have an in lens motor. Newer ones
will eventually appear, most likely.
