Have you tried something like PC Inspector Smart Recovery on the
card in question?

I don't know if it will help, but I had problems a couple of times
with my *istD where I could see the images on the cameras LCD, but not
when I put
Jens, if you insert another card and everything works, then I would
assume that your new discount card is defective.

Most likely a card error. If you can see the image on the LCD, then
the embedded JPEG preview is ok, but the RAW data written to the file
is corrupted.
Assuming it only happened with this card, test with another card then
take this card back for a refund.

Just for kicks, try re-formatting the card in the camera and see if the
problem still exists.

HAR! That hugs for you Thibouille. Seriously, I did it again. Replied
to the wrong message. But that's part of what makes the list so much
fun.

Transcend 150x SD cards in 2G capacity are now $21 in the US. Sandisk
Ultra IIs are about $28, Extreme IIIs about $39. At least in the US,
there's no sensible reason not to buy the best there is.

Hard to say. There do seem to be a rash of Sandisk Ultra II fakes on
the market these days at very low prices.

Hi Jens
The faked Sandisk cards miss the serial number on the backside, the front
looks identical to the original.
