Hi Jos, You are deeper into the code than I have ever ventured, but I know that Adobe needs to decode the so-called Makernote-tags in EXIF to extract info about lenses. I know from experience that some lens codes between Sigma and Pentax overlap, so maybe the .dll contains code to try to discer

Lens naming in LR cameraraw.dll file

Dear group, I was looking into the cameraraw.dll file to correct the lensname of some of my SIGMA lenses. I noticed that there are lensnames for Pentax, Sigma, Tamron and some more brands, but not for Canon or Nikon. My question is: how is the lensnaming for Canon and Nikon applied in Lightroom
