Yes, the thermal paper is a drag, but the printers are great. Used one in a
portable application and it's size was perfect for a portable, and print
speed was quick.

It's not considered especially high res, but you'll find that any higher
than that isn't going to gain you much.

Not for current standards but... with a mobile use in mind, I do not
see any problem.
More than enough to scan an image for the web and more than enough to
scan a text even for OCR so why not?
I myself do rarely go beyond 300dpi (not speaking photography of course).

Pentax portable scanner.
I think from time to time about getting one of their small, portable
printers--except they are thermal printers, so you have to use special
paper. That has been enough to keep me from getting one.
