Boris, Dave, Brian, Bob,
Thanks for all your comments. My only regret about
the second pic is that I couldn't get a better
exposure--when the hull was brought up the
superstructure blew out. I'll have to play with this
scene again when I next get to Seattle.

Hi Rick
I like both but there seems to be more to hold interest in the second. The
reflections on the water and the blue lights on the tower add impact.

I prefer the view of the second one too, but I like the exposure of
the first more so.
Cheers,

Rick, the original works better for me. The one you just posted is a bit
too busy...

I actually think I prefer this view to the first one I

K10D,
Rick,
Both nice pictures, but I like the line of the boat on the water
better in the original.

Thanks, Marnie.
Yes, photographically it was very nice. I had about
two hours to shoot one afternoon, about 20 minutes the
next evening (yielding the colorful sunset), and about
an hour and a half the last evening. Not a huge
amount of time, but enough.
Some daylight shots coming!

Thanks, Godfrey!
I gave the 28/2.8 a fair amount of use, btw; maybe
some of those pix will be good enough to post anon.

Very nice
did you push up the clarity slider a bit in Lightroom - I would be
tempted to get more punch in the hull. I especially like the way the
reflections in the water pick out and emphasise the difference in
colours of the lamps on the boat
