Nice shot. I think it's a goldfinch with a lot of yellow, which is sometimes the case in the spring. I believe warblers have a straight, conical beak. This one appears to be curved. Christian Skofteland would know. But he doesn't come around here much any more. Paul On Nov 21, 2010, at 9:31 AM,

Thanks, Paul. Looks like a pretty good call to me. Maybe a female black-backed lesser goldfinch. I hadn't thought of that, since the only goldfinches I've seen around here are the more boldly marked ones. But, again, turning to the ol' Peterson's, I think you may be right. -- Walt On
