I mentioned this photo in a conversation with Christine this morning. It's in
the Chicago neighborhood of Morgan Park at 112th and S. Oakley. It was the site
of a late 1880s meeting between John D. Rockefeller and Thomas W. Goodspeed
concerning the founding of a University in Hyde Park. The

Very nice! I have never been as far south as Morgan Park... it looks
almost pastoral... I wonder if the house is still there?

Thanks Christine. Yes, the house is still there, and it now has a historic
landmark sign. Last time I was in the neighborhood, perhaps two years ago, it
had been painted a different color. Can't remember details, but I think it was
blue. It probably wasn't white in the 19th century.
