USM has to be done very carefully on a high-frequency image like
this. It can cause a harsh and jangly look in fine details at low rez
for the web.
I'd try again, sharpening selectively only on areas that need it.

I'd second that... It does look oversharpened some.

Thanks. I agree about the rendering overall... I'm perplexed. Curious why
you think it might be oversharpened. I did USM it, but I figured

and greens next to each other, or the way the sky
didn't just go white.
In any case, a very nice shot.

Not exactly sure
Tom,
It's inviting yet with a hint of foreboding that I find mysteriously
interesting.
Like the crescent horizon and the total volume of the scene.
If I were playing with it in PS, I might give it a click of contrast to
see if the separation of color plains added further interest.
Actually, it
This picture creates a strong desire, in me, to be there. When a
landscape picture does that, I judge it a success.
It gives the impression of being on the roof of the world. The foreground
provides scale and also a strongly three-dimensional feel. Understated,
and very nice.

Hi Ken,
No... the mountain did not show itself the whole time we were there. But as

Tom,
Kantishna is a little further west from Camp Denali.
