That's a great shot, Rick. Fine composition and spot on exposure.
Sells me on going there.

Ann, one of my favourite photo books is on NY night life and it's full
of streets, neon and interiors over the years. Gorgeous.
You may not appreciate it because you've lived there for a while, but
it's iconic. I'd probably just go once as a tourist though. :-)
On Mon, Nov 18, 2013 at 3:14 PM,
Wow! You really captured the night time hustle and bustle of the place
beautifully.
I was only there at night once and I'll never forget it. When I was younger I
thought of Times Square as the centre of the universe - one place that
probably everybody in the world has heard of and would
Oh, you were referring to the visual spam throughout and around the
square :-). Silly me.
Apology readily accepted.

A nice portrayal of Times Square. I might have pulled the highlights down a bit
more and boosted the shadows a little, but would have to see what you had to
work with.
Times Square has become a Disneyland for tourists, but I don't miss the bad old
days. In 1980 one would be accosted by
Yeah. 20 years ago the character was plonk-pickled men passed out on subway
vents, addicts nodding off, and whores. It has swung to the other extreme.

Thanks, Paul. Exposure there was difficult, and used up every stop of DR. If
I shoot there again, I'll use ISO 1600 instead of 3200, which would give me a
bit more shadow room. The Toshiba sign is partly blown out, but a stop less
exposure drowned the shadows in noise.
Cheers,

But after the clean-up there was a brief period where it was cleaned
