signs of use, but I sent it to Pentax to replace the viewfinder
optics (the eyepiece was scratched, of course) and to tune up the
entire camera, so it's fresh from a CLA, back to original specs and
has Pentax's repair

I ended up with two PZ-1p bodies, thinking a backup would be smart,
but it reality the second one just won't get any use as I'm trying to
balance increasing digital use with a well-populated stable of
beautiful film bodies stretching back to the pre-Spotmatic era.

I'm looking for advice on buying a flash for my Pentax PZ-1P. I'm looking to
use the flash for mostly for indoor and outdoor portraits. I was considering
1 of the 3 following units: Metz54MZ-3, Pentax AF-360 FGZ or the Pentax
AF-500 FTZ. I would appreciate input that would help me
to the 500,
but if you are sticking with the PZ-1p, then get the 500FTZ.

Unfortunately, this has happened to me also. Forgot to mention it. I wonder
if the 360 is prone to this?

One point about the AF500FTZ and batteries -- I noticed on a trip that
when I
pulled out the flash, my brand-new lithium AAs were DEAD! In fact, this has
happened with that flash

Nimh rechargables and 1 hr quick charger has been a
life saver. The Flash does turn it self on when loose
in bag, it also can't auto off
