As I understand it as long as the place you buy it from fill out a
Pentax International Warranty Certificate it should be covered.

When I bought some Pentax items from Germany, I filled the
international warranty card and faxed it to Pentax Europe
(in Germany, I contacted them by e-mail first). They faxed
back the warranty certificate.
