Looks like you've got the hang of the 600.
Nice images all, especially the bird shots.

That's seaweed. Patching material for the nest. But from looking at
the colony on the boat trip, it seems the gannets are not very choosy
about nest building material. They seem to have a fancy for orange and
blue bits of nylon rope.

I should probably say that it is good that you don't hunt with gun and
firearms, Jostein. Your birding skills are most impressive ;-).

Thanks Jack.
The lens performs very well indeed for this type of shots.
It has the lowest resolution (as in MTF) of any lens I've ever used,
but the contrast and rendering makes portrait shots like these come
out so nicely.

That's a wonderful gallery and very pretty examples of the FA*600/4 images.

Excellent. A lot of nice shots here. A bird in flight offf a tripod is a tough

You certainly know how to use that lens. In the picture of the 3
gannets one of them has something caught around its neck - is that
seaweed, or something man-made?

It's material for nest renovation. In this case seaweed if I remember
correctly. But the also uses a lot of nylon rope in varying colours.
