This doesn't look like something I'll be trying after reading about it..
I really don't do a high volume of printing.. and some of the cautions
were scary

The Yellow, Magenta and Cyan cartridges are all brand new... The
yellow and cyan were nearly depleted earlier and those were replaced
yesterday... and a couple of nozzle checks run, today I replaced the
magenta...
If the whole carriage was off, the first 5 would not be ok.. and the

Ann,
I am neither of those three, but I will chime in as well.
In my, even most severe case, when I needed 5+ cycles of head cleaning,
none of the colors was missing completely, only certain areas of them.
I am guessing that if the entire color is missing, it might be a sign that

Well I didn't try to mix his formula... I did a couple of other things
one or another of the several vids I watched suggested, plus the
usualhead cleaner run..
so far the result is that the 5 left-most cartridges and heads are
working fine or minorly
off... but the 3 right most - cyan,
On a serious note: In the other thread on "unclogging a printer head"
I posted a link to a video from a fellow who describes making a DIY
nozzle cleaning solution. His recipe does include Windex, but it is
important to note that Windex now has multiple formulations and his
recipe specifies using
Jostein,
It's probably the most popular brand of window (and kitchen counter)
surface cleaner in the US:

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding" movie had a big reference to it.
(Btw, that was a nice comedy, imho.)
And I referred to that movie in my response as well.
Jostein, the quoting was used to understand what keeps you attached to
your printer.
Almost any glue has some solvent that will work on it. :-)

PS. Never had to use a solvent against mice droppings, but have to deal
with those in the patio every so often. Once, we've got mice visiting
That took you some creative quoting, eh?
What makes you think chemical solvents are any good on mouse droppings, Igor?

Jostein, I am sure some good solvent (good ol' Greek Windex?) will disolve
those and will set you free! ;-)

yesterday... don't ask..
I used the Rite-aidverson of Windex on a paper towel to wipe the spikes
last night not realizing it
wasn't Official Windex that I was loaned but the same chemistry.
My Epson stylus photo 2100 just keeps on working. It suffered one and a half
years sitting in an uninsulated barn, collecting dust and mouse droppings, and
still came through after four rounds through the cleaning process.
I believe I'm stuck with it for good... Or at least as long as there's
according to more than one of the guys in those you-tubes I've ben
looking at too much running of th head cleaning thing isnt good...
but with my R220 occasionally I had to run it two or three times -- but
it isn't as much of an ink guzzler as the r2400
This new computer of mine sat idle for
sometimes my 2400 sits for months and i have to do several haed
cleanings, just anFYI for you
