According to Wikipedia: "A jetty is a structure that projects from land out into water. A jetty may serve as a breakwater, as a walkway, or both;" So, a pier COULD BE a jetty, but it doesn't have to be. Plus this is PDML, so I don't really expect strict adherence to matters of proper form.
