Re: PESO - Iron Horse
Very interesting, Marnie. I researched it & found your bridge + many others & tunnels too. When I saw it was 32km my mind wandered to road-running & then I read that there is actually an annual half-marathon. All I need to do now is win the lotto. Iron Horse is a walking trail and pedestrian bridge near me. The trail crosses the boundaries of several cities because it replaced the old train tracks that were once there. Ironically, I used to walk those tracks, while still tracks, in my twenties with my female roommate. The bridge is sort of futuristic looking or like an airplane or spaceship. It is also not symmetrical, which the photo may or may not show. It dips a bit on one side with a curve. I made it B&W to make it more dramatic. I may do a GESO later. http://mapphotography.org/PAWS/pages/ironhorse.htm Comments welcome. (Also suggestions on B&W processing, not my strong suit.) Nice. The saturated look is defining and appropriate here. Re: PESO - Iron Horse
Hmmm. You know you might be slightly weirder than I am. Heh. None of the Iron Horse Trail bridges seem to have individual names. I haven't seen any of the others, but know there is at least one more. This is the most interesting one and the plaque for it said it was supposed to represent "transportation." Ergo, looking like an airplane or something is apt. Or something very similar, that it was dedicated to "Mr. Transportation," a city or county council member who had envisioned the trail and this particular bridge. Later, Marnie aka Doe I haven't won the lottery yet, ESP doesn't work, the numbers are too random. Good luck. On 1/6/2018 12:24 AM, Alan C wrote: Very interesting, Marnie. Re: PESO: Welcome to the Jungle
Intersting observation, Marnie -- I really like the image but I thought he didnt' take this in a real jungle... It looks like one of those big dioramas in either something like Bird world in the Bronx Zoo, or a hall in the American museum of of Natural History...or somewhere similar - maybe an exhibit in a hall that is all about vegetation of a specific area... The specific location in the title wasn't visible when I first looked.. still, it could be the title of the exhibit... hmmm... maybe I'm hectoring this too much - but given Mark's sense of humor... ann On 1/6/2018 6:33 PM, Marnie (aka Doe) wrote: Pretty, but so balanced it is sort of static.
