Thanks Dave. Obviously quite cold judging from the clothing. So different to what we see here. Perhaps I should do a nature walk! Nice to see the snow shots, something I have only experienced once. Alan C On 23-Dec-20 06:48 PM, David J Brooks wrote: Ontario is going into lock down Dec 26th

This mushroom popped up in the lawn today. I took a flash shot before it is destroyed by the looming thunderstorm tonight. No idea which variety but probably poisonous. Mushroom. About 60mm diam. | Flickr K5 & DA

Be careful if you go for the nature walk.  You probably have a greater prospect of meeting hungry carnivores than Dave.   -p On 12/23/2020 12:00 PM, Alan C wrote: Thanks Dave. Obviously quite cold judging from the clothing. So different to what we see here. Perhaps I should do a nature walk!

The stream behind our house looks a bit like that at times. During the past few years they've been building rainwater storage ponds upstream so the flooding is nowhere near as bad as it used to be. Cheers, Dave > On Dec 24, 2020, at 7:33 PM, Alan C wrote: > > After a few dryish years, we

After a few dryish years, we are being inundated. Rain all night. The Dec. rainfall is now over 200mm - more than twice the average. With the ground so saturated, the run off is very high & the small town streams have become raging torrents. I took this shot early this morning. The stream

Yes, Paul, it is a consideration but nowhere near as dangerous as it was 30 years ago. All the fences & pallisades now restrict free movement of large wild animals. Lions, Leopards, Elephants & Buffalos are rare in town today but there are resident Baboons, Warthog & Hippos to watch out for.
