GESO a few from the track
When I was out at Sears Point a couple weeks ago, I did pull my camera out a couple times to try my hand at photographing cars on the track. Thanks Jack, Richard, Ann, Frank, Paul and Cotty! It's still from the same location as my last photos, around the Red Lake in Romania. He thought it would be fun to take portraits of his patients straight and behind the exam instruments. I immediately said I could do a test since I had my camera on me. This is the result. I rendered the photo using the Old Polar preset in Lightroom and ended up liking it the best. Re: GESO a few from the track
Thanks Paul, and Godfrey, Steve and I had very different goals. He had to get a few clear shots of each car. I didn’t have to get anything and didn’t care how many I threw out. I also had the advantage of being able to spend time cropping and tweaking the shots I liked. There were a couple of LeMons cars out at the track that weekend, and they are fun to watch. That’s what the Olds with the wing was. On Nov 23, 2013, at 3:58 AM, Paul Stenquist pnstenqu...@comcast.net wrote: You managed to get a few good ones. More time would undoubtedly yield more keepers. D-LI90 charging: incredibly slow ... ?
Since I upgraded to the K-3 directly from the Pleistocene era K20D, I skipped all the intermediate models. Therefore I am using a D-LI90 battery for the first time. What strikes me is how _incredibly_ long it takes to charge. The initial charge was something like 5 excruciatingly long hours. Then I used it for 5 days and I'm charging it again tonight. So far, 90 minutes and counting. I'm used to popping the D-LI50 from the K20D in and having it done in 20-30 minutes at most. Looks like I'm going to have to get another one to keep fully charged and ready to swap, something I never had to bother with on the K20D. So what the hey? Ken, This was a master class on finding what inspires you to take photos. The Arboretum offers a series of photography classes. They start with how to operate your camera thru composition, color, macro and botany - adult education and some good photographers. I wasn't sure I was qualified for a masters class. In any case, the lead instructor is a 'retired' 4x5 photographer with 8 books published and pictures with the Magnum agency. He has lots of experience to share.
