Thanks to Dan and Cotty for comments on "Market Day, Djenne, Mali." It is one
of my all-time favorites. I will add that the description is a little off. The
photo was taken in 1998, not 1992.

Stay healthy, everyone.

Brian, thanks for the nod.
I am struck by the fact that at least 3 of the 11 are shot with *ist-D.

A nice collection once again. I am struck by Rick’s Paris shot, but also John
Coyle’s, Bill Robb’s, and Don’s. And … they are all good.

An excellent Gallery!

Once again, many thanks to Brian for putting the gallery together every
month. It is the glue that holds this (tiny) mob together!

I am unable to find an entry that doesn't please or fascinate me in one way
or another. My favorite, hands down, is "Market Day, Djenne, Mali," by
Joseph Tainter. What a powerful image! It positively reeks of mystery,
adventure and intrigue. My second fav is "Rue Levis," by Rick Womer. It
makes me long to return to Paris, or at least to again watch *Midnight in
Paris.*

Congrats to all who participated in this wonderful exercise.

Great stuff, the lot of it. Had a few that would have fitted the bill
but none taken with a Pentax. I'm just too honest... ;-)

G'day all

Lots to like about the contributions this month. Stan's 'Singapore Sidewalk'
and John's 'Not Much Happening' were my favs by a small margin.

View the August gallery here:

Note: The automated submission process usually works well but it's not
infallible. So, if you made a submission and you don't see it in the gallery,
