I haven't heard of such problems in the USA. It looks like a fault of the

Hi Ken,
Grace and I were downtown after the playground trip, and I saw that

quite an investment in materials and time. I think most of the people

I was expecting to be really disappointed in the reproduction quality.
Maybe it's because I didn't get my hopes up but I'm *really* impressed
with the results. Front and back cover (full glossy) both look
spectacular. The semi-matte interior pages look excellent. I've been
trying to find nits to pick but just can't come up with any as far as
the quality of the end product is concerned.

The price is a bit steep, but that's not too surprising for small-batch
(one!) custom print jobs like this. I'm going to revise the book, adding
more pages: I kept it small to start with because I didn't want to
invest much time into a project that I was sure would disappoint me.
I've never been happier to be wrong!

I wouldn't recommend trying this service unless you have a high quality
(not TN) monitor that's properly calibrated and profiled (I'm very glad
I recently upgraded my monitor), but if your equipment is up to snuff at
your end, they certainly seem to have a handle on their profiles and
  equipment calibration at their end!

Download their printer profile for soft-proofing and you'll be amazed
with the results.

Re: Blurb.com book arrived

2008-05-14 Thread Ken Waller
I was @ Shain Park Saturday thought I might see some of your work there
but I didn't. Out of 200 exhibitors, 25 were photographers. I was very
impressed with the quality of the work shown. A high number of the photogs
were still using film.

You car shots would have been perfect.
