Nicely done Dave! You managed to find some clean backgrounds and the cars 
weren’t too close together. That’s always a problem shooting shows like this.

nice job, Dave!  I love looking at the old cars - especially the ones 
from the 50's -  and these two close-ups are particularly nice

in a category of abstract, hard-edge design  3020 and 3054 -

But i only recognize the less than 20 cars my father, or boy friend or 
husband had.. because I have photos of them with me in them, or of family.
Other wise it is strictly .. four-door red car, or little yellow car, 
or  these days SUV as a category.

That was a problem at the show I was at. The cars were very close 
together, and it very quickly became so crowded that pictures of the 
cars without people in the frame was pretty much impossible.

Wonderful gallery Dave. You did an excellent job light notwithstanding. 
Some impressive stuff there, many of which were popular in my youth in 
Rhodesia. We were a Chev. family! My late uncle & aunt who lived in

That one was a Crestline. I've heard them called Crestline Victorias. My 
understanding is that they were replaced by the Fairlane in the mid 50s.

I had no idea that was a Jag engine, I just thought the intakes were cool.

Good work, Dave.  Car shows (and similar) are difficult as there  
always
seem to be distracting elements getting in the way or cropping up  
in the

background.  For me, the close ups work best.  I like these:

I did not see any, but that does not mean there were non. They had

What the hell is that low-slung green tricycle about?  That's one weird vehicle!

Some terrific shots in there, Dave.  Love the shot of the Plymouth
Road Runner Superbird.  Wanted one of those real bad when I was a kid.
 Of course, being 13 years old precluded me from driving it had I the
financial wherewithal to buying one...

Great story about those:

NASCAR (or whatever they were called back then):  You can't race
those big wings and pointy nose.  These are ~stock~ cars!  They have
to be available to the general public.

Chrysler:  Oh, other than our racing cars, we built a couple of
thousand of them and they're already at the dealers.  M'kay?

NASCAR:  Oh.  Er.  Well, I guess that'll be okay...

Great Story the Second:

That high back wing (probably the car's most distinctive feature) was
a real aerodynamic advantage - it was up off the body so as to be away
from the air-flow of the car to give more downforce.  However, it
didn't have to be ~that~ high to be effective.  It's height was so one
could open the trunk.
