It'll do IR without the grip - it has a sensor on the front left. I
think using the grip lets you use the IR from behind the camera as well,

Did anyone notice if a mirror lock-up/pre-lock feature was a part of
the official release?
I didn't see it and no longer have the info.
Thanks!

I didn't see it and I was looking for it. OTOH,

Not explicitly but I'm sure the 2sec timed shutter will be it. (sorry

You're correct. the 2-second and 12 second self timer is listed in the specs.
Another interesting feature is a bracketing function that will vary not only
exposure but also contrast, saturation, sharpness or white-balance. Of course
that would be in jpeg mode only I believe.

I get the same scent. ;-)

I would, also, expect it to be self-timer connected.
Thanks.

I agree. Why was it pulled? Wrong? Incomplete? Premature? Decided to
install a 5fps motor and 12.4 sensor?
If it were April 1st, I'd be worried. ;-))

I have an IR remote which works on the MZ-S with battery grip installed

Do you know or suppose that the battery grip will be a requirement for
IR use on the K10D?

Thanks, Mark. I wonder if the box will include two batteries.
I honestly don't find the BG10 Grip all that useful. Obviously depends
on ones shooting habits. So many times I later realized I'd shot a

Does it have a three-pin cable switch port like the MZ-S? I too find it
more useful than IR.

I'd rather have the minijack, as you can easily adapt Canon N3 plugs to
the minijacks and Canon offers some nifty stuff for N3 connectors.
