The authorities & vigilantes seem to have tamed the hot-spots but 
everyone will need to be wide awake 24/7 going forward. This thing was 
well organised. There was plenty of intelligence on social media which 
was simply ignored.

Thanks all for your concern. Fortunately we are in a fairly remote part 
of SA so well away from the trouble.


Criminals are still taking advantage of the situation where they can. 
Yesterday they robbed & vandalised a Crematorium & a Psychiatric 
Hospital - can you believe it? Tragic for all the targeted business 
owners who have lost so much. An amnesty has been proposed for looters 
to return goods without fear of prosecution. One commentator said 
yesterday that "concerned" politicians don't have a leg to stand on 
because they have been looting state funds from metaphorical 
supermarkets for years! Zuma supporters & incompetents lurking in the

Yes - we've been hearing about the riots via a contact my wife has in SA - and
on our local news channels. Sounds very frightening. I hope the army and police
can restore order soon.

has descended into a near state of anarchy in several densely populated
