Re: OT A rant and an offer...

2021-09-03 Thread John
I've had a few unpleasant experiences with UPS and one with FedEx, but never had
a problem with USPS.

why it happened.

B did their job...the printer was ordered on Aug 24 and shipped via FedEx on
Aug 25, with expected delivery on Aug 27.  By the 27th the tracking showed it
in transit in Chicago with a new delivery date of Aug 28.  FedEx tracking
continued to show it in transit in Chicago for the next *five* days; why they
had it roaming around the city of Chicago for that length of time I have no
idea.  I was finally able to contact a real person at FedEx on Aug 31 to
investigate and also asked B to intervene as the shipper.  The printer
finally arrived this afternoon by courier. Needless to say, FedEx shipping and
delivery performance was less than stellar.

So...is anyone on the list printing with an R2000?  I have some new cartridges
- these are the 159 series - that someone can have for the cost of shipping.
If no one on the list is interested, I'll put them up on ebay or as a last
resort they're worth $2 each to me if I recycle them.  Since they're new I'd
prefer that someone could make use of them.

Here's what I have:

Magenta - 1
Cyan - 1
Matte Black - 3
Photo Black - 1
Gloss Optimizer - 2

There's a popular variation to this theme, over here, with DHL: In the
morning, your parcel shows as "Loaded into the delivery van. Will be
delivered today." Some time in the evening, that changes into: "Could
not be delivred. Will be delivered on the next day."

The reason is simple: the driver had too many Amazon Prime parcels on
board which he has to deliver with priority. So, once he sees he has
more than he can handle on the day, he puts all other parcels aside.

I've had parcels been driven past my door for days on end before they
could eventually be bothered.
