If you're logged in to your google account when using google maps on 
your computer can you create the route you want by dragging points and 
then saving that route and pulling the saved route up on your iPad or 
iPhone? I haven't tried this...just wondering...

You can add stops either by press/holding a waypoint or by using Add Stop on 
the … menu. 

You can rearrange the stops by dragging them around in the list. 

As far as I know you can’t drag them around on the map.

way. I know that, when driving, if I turn off the selected route, Maps quickly 
adjusts, does a silent recalc, and on from there. But for planning, I seem to
