Excellent photo!

945mm, and great detail. We don’t call you “Steady Stenquist” for nothing!

2021-07-23 Thread Alan C
Very nice. About 50 years ago, when we still lived in Rhodesia, my late
aunt, a Toronto resident, sent me a mat impregnated with seeds &
fertilizer for a Christmas present. It produced a host of flowers I had
never seen before including a couple of Hollyhocks which towered above
everything else. This was the only time I ever grew them.

While on our brief northern Michigan honeymoon two+ years ago, Char and I
bought some Hollyhock seeds at a winery. I tossed them in the perennial garden
when we returned. Last year, one plant appeared and bloomed. This year, we have
three. WhenIm in the backyard with big glass and theres a lull in
bird activity, I entertain my self by shooting other things in range.
Thats why I shot this bloom with an outrageously long 945mm FOV.

A lovely flower, well photographed and presented, with nice color.
One very small thing: I am a bit distracted by the leaf that is partially
cut off from view at the top of the image. I don't know if there is anyway
you could include the rest of that leaf, or clone out the leaf and its
stem, but somehow that is what I think would make the image even stronger.
In any event, it is a fine image as it is.

Very nice.  Hollyhocks have a special place for me - they remind me of
my childhood on my grandparents' farm.

I don't know why but this has the look of a magazine ad. It certainly
tells a story.
Maybe you have a new genre here - beach photography instead of street
photography.

I like this one. Another wonderful composition, I like the playfulness, but
what really makes it is that beautiful light!

Terrific photo.

Cheers,
