The trauma, er story so far...

Having spent the better part of a couple of hours with a phone glued to
my earhole, I am now under the impression that Sanyo Cadnica 1.2 volt 225
maH cells are impossible to come by here in the UK.

The best phone call was to Pentax UK's repair division. There, a brusk
voice declared that the cells were no longer available, and so they
didn't do the recelling anymore! Better - he could not recommend anywhere
that would! I informed him that the LX was still manufactured - to which
he replied, 'Yeah well that's only in Japan and to special order...' I
pointed out that there were still plenty of LXs doing service in the UK,
but it was shrugged off! He couldn't have been more unhelpful if he had
tried, and he was not trying at all.

Sanyo UK gave me a number of a supplier, who gave me the number of
another supplier, who gave me the number of another supplier. This last
one sounded hopeful - he'd call me back. Hours later when I called him,
he admitted that his supplier (!) couldn't obtain them. They were in the
book, but he simply couldn't get them, unless I ordered a minimum of a
thousand!

So, all avenues in the UK seemingly closed to the Sanyo Cadnica N-225 AE
battery - prove me wrong!

Then along comes Bob S. and points out this website:

A very pleasant lady answers and yes, no problem! I want four sticks of
three cells? Sure. Give 'em a couple a days to get that together, I'll
mail 'em out as soon as they're done. USPS is pretty good at the moment,
should only be a week or so. That's fourteen bucks a stick, plus postage.
That okay?

You could have knocked me down with a feather.

Thanks Bob.

Cheers,

Cotty
