The camera is merely a cleaner and more portable way of preserving the bird.

Really impressive!
And in this view, it looks almost as a great work of a taxidermist.

I kinda was serious... because the photo was so very very sharp and you
mentioned being hard
to fine in your bird book... since I was , myself, fooled by a faux owl
, I thought it possible..
His eyes don't look quite real, which I guess is just the way the light

If it's the hazy eyes you're looking
at, I lightened the dark eye sockets
to bring out the pupils.

Don't know if you're serious, but in
case you are, I watched it sail in and
land on the pole in addition to
continuous head motion while I shot.

Thanks, Dan. I can appreciate your
suggestions to "clean up" the scene,
as was done with the original, but
this was for Alan's consideration in
determining whether it is a hawk or
falcon. I still say, "Hawk."

Boy, he is staring you down there!
I like the bird's pose, the overall composition, the details in the bird
and the pole, and the stark blue sky. The wood, insulator and wiring on
the upper right add to the scene, IMO, but the OoF wires and hardware on
the left side are a bit distracting.
Second view of Haute Hawk.
I can't find a definite match in my Bird Book.
