We might take a look at it if we make it to that part of the town before 
the installation is removed (if it would be, as you mentioned).


We've been to that part of the city quite a few times since last summer,
but I didn't know about it.

As far as I can tell, it started last summer, even though these people
are bad at specifying the year:

like a pile of jumbled metal parts.  Its located east a little ways
from the Congress st. bridge on the downtown side of the river.

I couldn't decide either.
The dark portion (tree) in the photo with the sky is a bit of a 
distraction, and in the one with the building in the back, I'd prefer no 
sky in the background.


BTW, where is it? (I assume in Austin, but where?)

I can see that (um, so to speak) .. But I prefer it to the other despite 
the op art eye pain  but in the second the
background isn't split between the building and the sky...  If you could 
place yourself in a position where behind

the work it was dark throughout that might be the best yet.

I prefer the sky behind you, with the building as the background.  The
sculpture is neat, but it makes me uncomfortable, like my eyes can't focus.
