Re: Green Wood Pigeon

2018-04-15 Thread Alan C
Thanks Dan. As I said to Subash - I'll have to try the tripod. My arm became
quite tired after lifting that lens for half an hour. Vervet Monkeys have
become quite common in urban areas, even getting into houses & cars if they
get the chance. The smaller Hornbills (yellow billed, red billed & grey) are
quite common but the much larger Trumpeter is seldom seen far from major
river courses. We occasionally get some in town when the figs are ripe. They
make a loud, nasal, baying sound much like a donkey.

That is a phrase seldom heard in my circles.

That is a fine image, Alan!

Thanks, Ann. I feel much better now. I'll see if I can zap the blossom.

P.S. I still have to reply the hard way (via the Archives) because I don't
receive posts from you or Jack.

I'd call it pretty good, though despite the motion blur... one glaring
thingy that you could fix..the dead blossom right behind the bird's head
really
jumps out... clear to see why green birdy likes that tree .. he looks
like he is part of it
