Well, I'm still bothered by the branch - it just draws attention away from the main subject. To be even more nit-picky, I prefer the aspect ratio of the original. I still reckon a few minutes with the cloning brush and/or cutting and pasting over the branch would make it a better image. Still can't make out the lurking Kraken. Only joking, Rick! Good for a tourist brochure now. I have the 100-300 & see that it is rated about the same as the 80-320 in the Pentax Lens Review Database. Well, I upgraded to the HD 55-300 but actually find it no better in spite of it's glowing review. I wonder about some of those reviews. The same goes for my 28-80 which is far better than the reviews would suggest. But, like Dan, I find that lower left branch off-putting. If it were my image I wouldn't be able to resist the lure of the clone tool Cheers Brian ++ Brian Walters Western Sydney Australia http://lyons-ryan.org/southernlight/ > > (K-5, FA 80-320) > > Comments appreciated. > > Rick > -- -- -- http://www.fastmail.com - mmm... Re: PESO - Evening Fishing
Peaceful scene. I find the OoF branch in the lower right distracting. Although I like the idea of a foreground element there from a composition point of view, this particular branch doesn't work, to my eye.
