It also turned out that ultimately I didnt' need to use it .. Just had to tell the printer I was using Epson enhanced matte and let the printer do the work... as I was using Double sided matte from Red river I chose double sided matte in the paper menu.. that turned out to be wrong and was

As Paul Stenquist said, are you setting the software to control the color output or depending on the printer's driver? I looked on the Red River site and it appears they don't have an ICC profile for the R220, but they do for the R2400. Would be a good idea to install he one for the R2400

Are you printing with "PS Elements controls printing" or using the printer's color controls? To get accurate results you need to use the former. Accurate profiles are also an issue. Can you choose a paper for which ics profiles for your printers are available? That makes all the difference.
