[Pdns-users] Warning in syslog after upgrade to PowerDNS Authoritative Server 4.7
Dear all, after updating my secondary PowerDNS to version 4.7, I see a myriad of these messages in the syslog: "pdns_server[7658]: GSS-TSIG request but not feature not compiled in" and "pdns_server[7658]: Unable to retrieve SOA for domainname.tld, this was the first time. NOTE: For every subsequent failed SOA check the domain will be suspended from freshness checks for 'num-errors x 60 seconds', with a maximum of 3600 seconds. Skipping SOA checks until 1666868614" What do you think they depend on? [Pdns-users] PowerDNS problems with MySQL
Hello! I have several powerdns servers installed, but only one is behaving strangely. The operating system is Debian 11 with the latest stable version of PowerDNS installed (4.7.3) and MySQL (MariaDB) backends. The server has 2 CPU Cores and 4 GB RAM. I see that when the DNS request load increases the server CPU goes to 100% for the mysql and it remains so even for a few hours, without an apparent reason, since the DNS requests are very low (at most 500 requests per second) and in any case the CPU usage never drops below 50/60%. I also tried to connect the server to an external database, but PowerDNS doesn't connect and it's not a permission or network problem, because trying a mysql connection from the terminal everything works perfectly. I also tried installing another parallel test server (same datacenter, same network) and the external database connection works fine. Do you have any idea why it behaves like this? Thank you! [Pdns-users] DDOS TKEY request
Hi I have detected a high traffic on our DNS servers since yesterday (Dnsdist + Powerdns) of queries for non-existent records similar to "_.domainname.tld" TKEY request but no TKEY RR found115449.8% More than one TKEY record found in query57724.9% TKEY record has no or invalid content (invalid packet)57724.9% Have you ever had a similar experience? Do you suggest inserting/modifying some parameter in the DNSdist and/or PowerDNS configuration? Thanks for any suggestion!
