To return to an earlier subthread: If the opposite of globalization is autocentric development, does this mean that current increases in globalization make autocentric development impossible (or at least unlikely)? Has the Korean strategy of export orientation combined with a relatively balanced development in the home economy become obsolete? If so, any subsequent emergence from TW status is going to look different from the late golden age tigers. Terry McDonough
