Blair makes way too much of one word in my post. Nevertheless, any scientific paradigm grows through conceptual elaboration and addition. Paradigms can degenerate through the addition of concepts inconsistent with their basic "problematic". This was the origin of Althusser's critique of economism and humanism. What's consistent with Marxism and what's not has to be determined in the context of theoretical practice (including academic discourse). My comments on the circular nature of postmodern conceptualization (new concepts imho inconsistent with Mism) and the distinction between determinative and contingent causation (new concepts imho consistent with Mism) were in this spirit. Needless to say, I'm not interested in writing any Marxist (broadly conceived) or other progressive perspective off PEN-L.
