I hope this request won't get lost in the flood of msgs that has recently
erupted.  It is not related to any of those threads.

  I am hoping that someone, especially those connected to or studying unions,
can help me.  Is there any information (article cites?) on a link between
the rise in 2-tier wage structures and efforts to move workers in the lower
tier away from the company's old defined benefit pension plan and into
either a defined contribution plan or no plan at all?  I suspect there was/is,
but I need some documentation.
