I have not read any of the literature put out by the folks affiliated with ACTA 
(American Council of Trustees and Alumni), but they have quite a bit of "Crisis in 
public education" material on their web site. If you don't know, Lynne Cheney is quite 
active in ACTA. I don't know if that may be a factor in the material they produce?

I'm looking for updated information on the crisis, real or imagined, in public 
education.  The book by Biddle and Berliner has been criticized, I think fairly, for 
some poor scholarship, but I'd like to read up on the whole debate.
