What I was trying to say is: C + H = M is a design principle. Do you want to know how to get better quality heterodox applicants? Drop the degree requirements. But then there would be no way of systematically screening and short-listing the applicants. You would get better quality applicants, but you wouldn't know which ones they were they were!
