One personal issue here. I thought that Charles said that you cannot
have capitalism without slavery. Marx and Engels in some of their
stagist writings suggested that slavery existed before feudalism, but I
don't see why capitalism could not have formed
There are two issues here. First, were Brenner and Wood wrong. That
thread is over. I don't think many people care about it. Whether they
were right or wrong is inconsequential.
