After many years, the csf archives -- in fact the whole csf system -- is going to
disappear. We all owe a debt of gratitude to Don Roper Michael Yount for keeping
it going.

Some of you have not subscribed to pen-l directly, but only though the CSF site. You

Do you
I think that the csf computer might be gone. It was supposed to go last
September. Hans Ehrbar is hosting the archives now. We all owe him a
great debt of thanks.

For some time, Don Roper felt nervous about hosting the archives. Hans
Ehrbar has done a wonderful job of taking over the hosting.

His site also contains ope-l, marxism, pkt, the a-list and a number of
other lists.
We owe him a debt
The pen-l archives will probably be moved fairly soon. I will keep you
posted.

BTW, this is the non-graphic version of the home page. Maybe he forgot to

Yeah, I can set up a search engine like the kind I set up for the Marxism
list. It will not be publicized on CSF, but only known to PEN-L subscibers.
We can even use a password and swear that we believe in the sanctity of
intellectual property.

Don Roper is worried that his department review will react negatively to
the amount of copyrighted material that people post here. I don't think
that this list is much different from others, but since he is using
university resources, he fears that the university fears some liability
problem.

Perhaps if we use the process below to register the front page of the
archives with all existing search engines -- and maybe put a bunch of

By the way, the archives are still linked to CSF.

Where did you see the link? The archives are still at CSF, but you have to
know where they are in advance unless you found a link that I did not see.

Michael Pollak made the suggestion that we use Tourbus. I don't think that this
facility will work. We could construct a web page that would point to it, but
the people who come upon pen-l tend to be looking for specific types of
information, such as they find in individual posts. Perhaps

This is fucking ridiculous. First it was getting censored over using
4-letter words, now it is making the archives virtually unusable. I was in
