[Bug 906095] perl-IO-Compress confusion

--- Comment #2 from Petr Pisar ppi...@redhat.com ---
As Paul said distributing both versions does not harm. Nevertheless we have
already removed older versions from rawhide. We are not going to do these
changes in stable release like F18. (The packages would remain available from
mirrors even after suggested change.)

The architecture value will be fixed at next build.

Thank you for the report.

Has yum meanwhile learnt to handle arch-noarch changes?

I don't if yum does it correctly, but it worked always for me. Notwithstanding
the binary packages are already masked by higher version of standalone
package.

[Bug 906461] wrong default pidfile in /etc/clamd.d/amavisd.conf

2013-01-31 Thread bugzilla
Product: Fedora EPEL
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=906461

--- Comment #2 from Robert Moskowitz r...@htt-consult.com ---
chkconfig shows both daemons, clamd and clamd.amavisd

clamd is set to start at boot; this is the one I have been restarting after
various changes.

And when I do 'service _ status' I get the same pid for both daemons!

Definitely need this cleared up, it seems? if /etc/clamd.d/amavisd.conf is for
clamd.amavis the comments there should say so.

[Bug 863303] missing dependency clamav-server-sysvinit required

2013-01-31 Thread bugzilla
Product: Fedora
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=863303

John Florian jflor...@doubledog.org changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||jflor...@doubledog.org

--- Comment #3 from John Florian jflor...@doubledog.org ---
I also ran into this bug. I had installed amavisd-new (on Fedora 18), which
pulled in several clam dependencies, but missed this one on
clamav-server-sysvinit. As a result amavis was throwing warnings like:

amavis[12756]: (12756-03) (!)connect to /var/spool/amavisd/clamd.sock failed,
attempt #1: Can't connect to UNIX socket /var/spool/amavisd/clamd.sock: No such
file or directory

With the large number of clam packages (and some with buggy package
descriptions), it was a challenge to figure out what was needed to resolve the
above error message. Fortunately I decided to check BZ before putting too much
work into the diagnosis as this bug report gave me just the answer I needed:

yum install clamav-server-sysvinit
systemctl start clamd.amavisd.service

With that simple task done, now amavis can talk to clamd successfully. Seems
like this should be an easy bug to fix that would make this common setup very
easy for people -- it's so close now, especially compared to what it used to
require!

[Bug 863069] amavisd.service fails to start because required default folders are missing

2013-01-31 Thread bugzilla
Product: Fedora
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=863069

--- Comment #2 from John Florian jflor...@doubledog.org ---
Having just looked at the spec for amavisd-new-2.8.0-2.fc18.src.rpm, it appears
that the problem with the missing /var/run/amavisd/ is because the spec file
only makes that directory for the amavisd-new-snmp package. If you use
amavisd-new (the non-snmp variant), you have to make this directory yourself,
which is wrong.
